CARBON NEUTRAL STATUS TO IGI

Airports Council International gave the “CARBON NEUTRAL” status to The Indira Gandhi International Airport during the Airport Carbon Accreditation certificate presentation ceremony at canada.

Key features:

This status is the achievement of Asia – Pacific’s one and only airport to get carbon neutral status.

And also one of world’s few airports to achieve a “carbon neutral” which was less than 25 Airports in the world.

IGI is covered with green buildings, solar power plants, rainwater harvesting systems which are reduces the carbon emissions.

And IGI is managed by A Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which is private body.

FIRST FAST PATROL VESSEL FROM GOA – MCGS VICTORY

 

 India’s Goa Shipyard Limited constructed and launched the first fast patrol vessel for Mauritius government.

Key features:

MCGS (Mauritius Coast Guard Service), is a 50m vehicle and it has been designed for anti piracy, coastal patrolling, anti smuggling, anti drug surveillance, anti poaching operations and search and rescue operaitons.

Goa shipyard Ltd is the largest exporter of military ships from the Indian Subcontinent.

OVER AIR POLLUTION CAUSES DEATH IN INDIA

World Health Organization (WHO) conducted a survey about air pollution, which is killed at least 6,00,000 Indians in 2012.

About the survey:

India listed behind the China, where air pollution causes 8,00,000 deaths.

About this Index:

Global Competitiveness Index is a yearly report published by the World Economic Forum.

India has promoted to 16 places compared to 2015-2016 GCI, where india got 55th position.
